Joyland Editions + Learning by Courtney Bush

Joyland Editions is one of my favorite new independent presses. They publish two novellas a year and their first novella for 2026, Learning, knocked my socks off. Set in a NYC daycare, Learning takes place over the course of a single day slipping between the active hum of a preschool classroom and the interior life of one of its teachers. At once mysterious, wise, and hysterical - exactly like the best children.
